Bending, Twisting and Bored

I have a long list of things that I can’t or shouldn’t do. Problem is I can do some of them and shouldn’t . Like picking up things that weigh more than 5 pounds.  I decided to turn the reformer back into a reformer by removing the mat converter. I swear I didn’t think it weighted that much but as soon as I picked it up I realized that I’d made a mistake. I put it down right away but think about it- I should have- I’m bending and picking something up.

Dr. Guzmen Nov 27, 2007

This was a good day to see Dr. Guzman. I was in a fair bit of pain and had enough concerns to make the trip worthwhile. Basically he reminded me that I had had two serious operations and normally I would have been in the hospital a lot longer. That’s what Thelma told me, too. And he said that I am doing very well considering the surgeries.

Day 3 on the Elliptical

So I have been keeping up with the elliptical and walking 45 minutes. I drove the car once but I think it will be okay from now on. Bill had to take the day off work today so he could take me to my appointment with Dr. Guzman. It’ll be nice when he doesn’t have to do that.

Starting the Elliptical

I decided that today was enough. I drove the car for the first time and it didn’t feel too bad. Mind you it was Sunday and not much traffic but still, that’s it’s – I’m back to driving.

Been having a relatively good day. Woke up at 2AM to the sound of buzzing. One of Bill’s remote controls was emitting this sound. Last time it happened when the batteries needed charging.

So What’s Normal Anyway?

It was great to have Thelma around yesterday. It made me realize how little contact I have with people other than Bill. But it was also very tiring. She kept telling me to sit down or rest but I know what’s it’s like in the kitchen and I didn’t want her to be there for 3 hours…I did eventually.

Trying to Stay “Normal”

Went for a half hour walk before Thelma came over. Wanted to get the walk in because it was beautiful out and that’s all I can count on doing. 🙂 Waited at the bus stop for her – in the sunshine.

Taking it Easy

Went for a 30 minute walk this morning then spent time geting one of our passport applications done on the net. Talked with Joan before she left for Egypt. Got a really kewl cat calendar plus poetry in the mail from her. Was so nice. 🙂

Had my hair done today. Lots of sitting. I get standing up whenever I could. Washing my hair was absolutely NO fun. Bending backwards is not a good move. Sucks.

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti, Another MRI

Peace, peace, peace. Accepting. Another MRI. Oom.

Feeling better today. Turning my exercise routine into a yoga routine. Adding a little mediation. Need to bring myself up not drag myself down.

Sunday- A Day of Reflections

Had an interesting night. Not comfortable. Not at all. Got up at 4:30. Easier then lying there. I decided that it would be a good idea to focus on what I have to be thankful for. Too much focus on negative stuff is bad for the soul.

And so while I don’t want to lie about what is going on – I can’t change it at the moment and maybe by changing my thinking I can have an effect on everything else. And why not?
